Im Mai 2007 was das Unternehmen La Rinascente das erste, dass nach einer Kampagne des italienischen Anti-Pelz-Netzwerks AIP aus dem Pelzhandel ausstieg. In der diesjährigen Wintersaison wurden nun jedoch Echt-Pelz-Bekleidungsstücke gefunden, welche auf eine offizielle Beschwerde hin nicht entfernt wurden. Aus diesem Grund wurde nun erneut zu Protesten gegen das Unternehmen aufgerufen (Bericht von den ersten Protesten).

Um das AIP-Netzwerk bei ihrem Kampf gegen den Pelzhandel zu unterstützen ruft die Offensive gegen die Pelzindustrie dazu auf, sich am Protest gegen La Rinascente zu beteiligen und das Unternehmen per Mail zum sofortigen Einhalten der Austiegserklärung aus dem Pelzhandel aufzufordern!

Italian department stores La Rinascente are not following the fur-freepolicy they signed in 2007. They still have some fur items in their storesand replied to Campagna AIP network saying they are working on it and they questioned about this issue the brands that directly sell in their stores. But they didn’t do what they should have immediately done, remove all furitmes from the stores, being it of other brands or directly bought by LaRinascente. […]

It is very important for the italian movement that La Rinascente goesreally fur-free because it was the first target of anti-fur campaigning, with 3 years of demos, lock-ons, leaflettings, run-ins and much more. If they do not follow the policy it could be a dangerous precedent for morecompanies […].
